Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt into large bowl.

Add eggs coffee, oil and vanilla to dry ingredients. Beat until smooth.

In small bowl, mix vinegar and milk to make sour milk (or use buttermilk).

Mix sour milk into batter thoroughly.

Pour batter into a greased and floured rectangular cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.

Cool on rack.

Sift sugar into small bowl.

Melt butter and chocolate in top of double-boiler, over NOT in, boiling water in bottom of boiler.

Transfer chocolate mixture to a large bowl.

Whisk in cocoa and vanilla until smooth.

Whisk in half of sugar and half of sour cream until smooth.

Whisk in other half of sugar.

Whisk in enough sour cream to get to right consistency. You may not use all of it.

Continue whisking for about 5 minutes until icing is glossy and smooth.

Ice completly cooled cake.
